Did you know Print Cakes was founded by our very own girl boss Helena? We passionately believe that the world is yours for the taking no matter what gender you are. On the 8th March 2020, it is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The day is a chance to highlight how we can challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions and improve situations to create an equal world and an enabled world. Furthermore, it can create a push towards the importance of a gender equal boardroom, government, and workplace, to ensure there is greater numbers of gender equality.
International Women’s Day 2020 is encouraging spreading the message on social media using the #iwd2020 and #eachforequal hashtags, and images of people doing the “hands out” pose. See Helena giving it a go below!
International Women’s Day will see lots of events, from concerts and conferences, to fun runs, and festivals. It is a chance to celebrate women, all across the world, to raise awareness, and to show our commitment to forging a gender-equal world.
Our very own Founder, Helena Harford, started Print Cakes at the beginning of 2018, following on from her first business, Baked Cupcakery which has been running for 10 years. Print Cakes has gone strength to strength, working with big brands all across the country, including; Virgin, Transpennine Express, EasyJet, British Airways, Scottish Power, and O2. Helena has led the business to be nominated and shortlisted for several awards in such a short space of time, such as Best New Business at the Sunderland Portfolio Awards, and Highest Growth Potential at the If We Can You Can Challenge. All this while raising two small children, including her very own little girl boss who she hopes will give no regard to her gender when she reaches for her goals.
Last year, Print Cakes helped UKTV spread the word with these fabulous cupcakes and they went down brilliantly.
